Managing Tasks
Tasks in Glacis are action items that need someone's attention — approvals, follow-ups, document reviews, or anything that requires a human decision. Tasks can be created manually or generated automatically by workflows. This page covers how to view, create, and complete tasks.
Viewing your tasks
Click Tasks in the left sidebar. Your task inbox organizes tasks into sections:
Section | What it shows |
|---|---|
Inbox | Unassigned tasks waiting for action |
Today | Tasks due today or overdue |
Upcoming | Tasks coming up in the future |
You can also filter by team or category using the sidebar navigation below the main sections.
Use the search bar at the top to find tasks by title or keyword.
Task list items
Each task in the list shows:
Status badge — Open, In Progress, Completed, or Rejected
Title — a brief description of what needs to be done
Related records — linked orders, shipments, or other items
Assignee — who is responsible
Deadline — the due date
How to create a task
Click Tasks in the sidebar.
Click the Create button.
Fill in the task details:
Title — describe what needs to be done
Description — add context or instructions
Team — which team this task belongs to
Assignee — who should handle it
Category — the task category
Deadline — when it's due
Tags — optional labels for organizing
Click Save.
Most tasks in Glacis are created automatically by workflows — for example, when an AI extraction needs human review, or when an order requires approval. You'll mostly create tasks manually for ad-hoc follow-ups.
Task detail view
Click any task to open its detail panel on the right. The panel shows:
Created by — who created the task and when
Description — what needs to be done
Team, Assignee, Status, Category, Deadline, Tags
Related Records — linked orders, shipments, or emails
Change Requests — if the task involves reviewing changes
References/Attachments — supporting files and documents
Task statuses
Status | Color | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
Open | Blue | Task is waiting to be started |
In Progress | Yellow | Someone is working on it |
Completed | Green | Task is done |
Rejected | Red | Task was rejected or declined |
Task priorities
Priority | Icon | When to use |
|---|---|---|
Critical | Arrow up | Needs immediate attention |
High | Chevron up | Important, handle soon |
Medium | Minus | Normal priority |
Low | Arrow down | Can wait |
How to complete a task
Open the task from your task list.
Review the details, related records, and any attachments.
Click the primary action button at the bottom of the task panel. Depending on the task type, this will say:
Mark Complete — for general tasks
Approve — for approval tasks
Submit Changes — for change request tasks
Mark as Read — for informational tasks
Confirm the action in the dialog that appears.
To reject or cancel a task, click the secondary button:
Reject — for approval tasks
Cancel — for general tasks
Discard — for change request tasks
Completing or rejecting a task cannot be undone. Make sure you've reviewed everything before confirming.
Tasks on orders and shipments
You don't always need to go to the Tasks section to manage tasks. On any order or shipment detail page, click the Tasks button in the top-right corner to see tasks related to that record. You can review and complete them right from there.
