Managing Orders
Once orders are in Glacis, you can view, filter, edit, and track them from one place. This page covers how to work with your orders day to day.
Viewing your orders
In the left sidebar, expand your team and click Orders.
The order list opens, showing all orders for that team.
You can switch between two views using the layout toggle in the top-right:
Card Layout — shows orders as cards with key details, status badge, and progress bar. You can group cards by Order or by Shipment Breakdown.
Table Layout — shows orders in a sortable, filterable grid.
Searching and filtering
Use the search bar at the top to find orders by number, name, or keyword.
Click Filter to narrow results by status, date range, supplier, or other fields.
Save a custom filter as a named view for quick access later.
Tip: Saved views appear in the view selector dropdown on the left. Create views like "Open POs" or "Overdue Deliveries" to jump to the orders you care about most.
Order detail view
Click any order to open its detail page. The page has two main views:
Details view
The default view with two sections:
Left sidebar navigation:
Order Details — the main information about the order
Shipments — shipments linked to this order
Main content area:
Order header with the order name, number, and status badges
Order fields (supplier, dates, incoterm, addresses)
Order Items table showing products, quantities, unit prices, tax rates, and totals
Right sidebar:
Activity Trail — a timeline of events and updates on this order
Execution view
If the order has an SOP (operating procedure) or document checklist assigned, you'll see an Execution tab at the top of the order. Click it to switch from the Details view.
Note: If no SOP or checklist has been assigned, you won't see the Execution tab at all.
The Execution view has two columns:
Operating Procedures (left, larger):
Each assigned SOP appears as a card showing the SOP name, assignee, and a vertical timeline of steps. Each step displays:
Status indicator — a visual icon showing where the step is:
Green checkmark = Completed
Blue pulsing dot = In Progress
Red alert icon = Failed
Numbered dashed circle = Planned (not yet started)
Gray circle = Cancelled or Skipped
Step name and description
Assignee, Reviewer, and Contact (if set)
Action buttons that change based on status:
Planned steps show Start
In Progress steps show Complete and Mark as Failed
Failed or Cancelled steps show Move to Planned (to retry)
Click any step to expand it and see its activity timeline — document checklists, tasks, and workflow executions tied to that step.
Document Checklist (right, smaller):
Shows the documents needed to complete this order — invoice, packing list, bill of lading, etc. Each item is an expandable accordion with a status indicator (completed, pending, or cancelled).
Tip: The Execution view is where you'll spend most of your time on active orders. It shows you exactly where things stand and what needs to happen next. For more on how SOPs work, see How to Create an SOP.
Order header and status
The sticky header at the top of every order shows:

How to edit an order
Open the order and click Edit in the top-right corner.
Update any fields — the form is the same as when creating an order.
Click Update Order to save your changes.
You can edit the order type, dates, addresses, line items, and all other fields.
Exception alerts
If an order has active exceptions (e.g., a delayed shipment or a missing document), you'll see an orange alert banner at the top of the order:
The alert shows the exception name and notes
Click Mark as Solved to dismiss the exception once it's resolved
Order types
Orders in Glacis are identified by type:
Type | Icon | Description |
|---|---|---|
PO (Purchase Order) | Shopping cart | An order you're placing with a supplier |
SO (Sales Order) | Dollar sign | An order a customer is placing with you |
TO (Transfer Order) | Package move | An internal transfer between locations |
The order type affects which fields are shown — for example, POs show a Supplier field, while SOs show a Customer field.
