Organization, Workspaces & Teams
Glacis is organized in three levels: your organization, one or more workspaces, and teams within each workspace. Understanding this hierarchy helps you navigate the platform and set up access for your colleagues.
The hierarchy
Organization (your company) └── Workspace (an operational environment) ├── Team (e.g., "Procurement") ├── Team (e.g., "Logistics") └── Team (e.g., "Customer Service")
Organization
Your organization is your company in Glacis. It's the top-level container that holds everything — workspaces, members, and settings. Each company has one organization.
Organization-level settings include member management, security settings (like SSO), and workspace administration.
Roles at the organization level:
Organization Owner — full control over the organization, workspaces, teams, and members
Member — access to assigned workspaces and teams
Workspace
A workspace is a shared operational environment — think of it like a shared drive for your supply chain data. Everyone on a workspace sees the same orders, shipments, emails, and workflows.
Most companies start with one workspace. Larger organizations might use separate workspaces for different regions or business units (e.g., "North America Operations" and "APAC Operations").
Workspace settings include the workspace name, member management, and team configuration. From Workspace Settings (gear icon in the sidebar), you can manage members, archive teams, and configure general settings.
Team
A team is a group within a workspace — usually aligned with a function like Procurement, Logistics, or Customer Service. Teams are the operational unit in Glacis:
Each team gets its own email address (e.g.,
procurement@yourcompany.glacis.com)Each team has its own orders, workflows, SOPs, and emails
Team members can see everything within their team
Roles at the team level:
Team Manager — full control over the team, including managing members and roles
Member — access to team workflows, SOPs, emails, and tasks
Team settings include the team name, email prefix, and member management. The email prefix determines the team's Glacis email address — only lowercase letters and numbers are allowed.
How it all connects
When you log into Glacis, you select a workspace (if you have access to more than one). The left sidebar then shows your teams and their content. Orders, shipments, workflows, and emails all belong to a team within a workspace.
