Managing Emails
Glacis has a built-in email system that connects your supply chain communications to your orders, shipments, and workflows. Every team gets a dedicated email address, and all incoming and outgoing messages are tracked in one place. This page covers how to use the email features in Glacis.
How the Glacis email system works
Each team has a dedicated Glacis email address — something like procurement@yourcompany.glacis.com. When someone sends an email to that address, it appears in the team's Emails section in Glacis.
This is how most automation starts: a supplier sends a PO, the email arrives in Glacis, a workflow processes it, and an order is created — all automatically.
Viewing your emails
Click Emails in the left sidebar.
Your inbox shows all email threads for your workspace.
Each thread in the list shows:
Sender name and email count in the thread
Subject line and a preview of the latest message
Linked items — order and shipment tags if the email has been processed
Timestamp — when the latest message arrived
Processing badge — a spinner appears if a workflow is currently processing this email
Filtering emails
Use the view selector on the left to filter by saved views. Each view shows a count of matching emails.
Reading an email thread
Click any thread to open the detail panel on the right. The panel shows:
Main content:
Full subject line at the top
All messages in the thread, showing sender name and timestamp for each
Any error banners if the email has issues that need review
Right sidebar metadata:
Team — which team received this email
Linked Items — orders (shopping cart icon) and shipments (truck icon) connected to this email
Attachments — files attached to the email (with count)
Automations — workflows that processed this email (with count)
Related Items — other connected records such as orders or shipments
Tasks — tasks created from this email (with status badges)
Company — the sender's company if recognized
How emails connect to orders and workflows
Emails are the starting point for most supply chain automations in Glacis:
Email arrives at your team's Glacis address
Workflow triggers — an Email Received trigger starts the workflow
AI extracts data — from the email body and attachments
Orders are created — the extracted data becomes a structured order
Everything is linked — the email, order, and documents are connected
You can trace this chain from any email (see linked items) or from any order (see the Emails button).
